About Us…
Hi! My name is Emma and I live in the Pacific Northwest. I’m a Senior in High School and I love to play volleyball. I founded Spark A Spike in 2021 and I’m grateful you are taking the time to learn more about our mission.
Spark A Spike was born from my desire to positively impact the lives of others through my love of volleyball. When I was 11 years old, I was introduced to volleyball. I went on to play for my school and club teams. I couldn’t get enough time on the court! One of my favorite aspects of volleyball is that it’s a team sport. The power of that comradery pushes me to become the best I can be, on and off the court. I strongly believe that sports have the unique ability to transform lives and unite communities, and volleyball is no exception.
Spark A Spike brought on even greater meaning when my Junior year season was cut short after rupturing my ACL and tearing my medial and lateral meniscus during a game. While my time on the court is put on pause as I rehabilitate, I want to focus on helping communities worldwide that don’t have the equipment or means to play. I hope to empower aspiring athletes and to create spaces that bring people together and create opportunities for talent development and community engagement.
Volleyball has changed my life for the better. It continues to teach me and be a source of joy. It’s my goal to help others experience that and I would be honored if you join me in this effort. Your involvement can make a real difference!
